This report provides data and a framework to assess the current state of Black tech ecosystems (BTE) in regions across the United States. It was produced as part of a collaborative research project between Black Tech Mecca leaders and staff, the State of the Black Tech Ecosystem (SBTE) advisory board, and the research team at the Nathalie P. Voorhees Center for Neighborhood and Community Improvement at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

BTM gives its sincere appreciation and acknowledgement to Leslie Page-Piper, past research director of BTM, for her pro-bono work in securing the Voorhees Center at UIC to perform this groundbreaking study on the black technology ecosystem. Her contribution of comparative analysis on prospective research entities and draft of the project scope of work for the Voorhees Center research team was very much appreciated.
